Invitation Daniel 2:20

"Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 148:1-4, 13-14

Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights above.

Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

Praise him, sun and moon;
praise him, all you shining stars.

Praise him, you highest heavens
and you waters above the skies...

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

And he has raised up for his people a horn,
the praise of all his faithful servants,
of Israel, the people close to his heart.

Praise the Lord.

Bible Reading Hebrews 1:1-4

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.

The Lord's Prayer

Prayer HC 27

Creator and sustainer of all things, scientists seek the mysteries that hold the universe together, a theory that explains everything. But you already have a name for that reality. It's Jesus, who upholds heaven and earth and everything in it. He is the still point in the universe, the clearest expression of your mind, the sustaining word that holds everything together. In the name of him who holds and keeps my life, amen.

Blessing Philippians 1:9-10

May your love "abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ."
