Invitation 2 Samuel 22:29-30

"You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 141:1-4, 8-10

I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
hear me when I call to you.

May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Set a guard over my mouth, Lord;
keep watch over the door of my lips.

Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil
so that I take part in wicked deeds

along with those who are evildoers;
do not let me eat their delicacies...

But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord;
in you I take refuge — do not give me over to death.

Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers,
from the snares they have laid for me.

Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
while I pass by in safety.

Bible Reading Ephesians 1:3-10

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will — to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment — to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

The Lord's Prayer

Prayer CD 1.13/14

Eternal God, the staggering truth that I was loved in Christ before the foundation of the world dwarfs my imagination. While I cannot fathom it, let this truth bring me to my knees in gratitude, that I may wholly love you who first so greatly loved me. But it's not only about me — you will unite all things in Christ. What a plan! What a God! Amen.

Blessing see 2 Thessalonians 1:11

May God make you worthy of his calling, and by his power may he bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith.
