Invitation Romans 5:5

"God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 120

I call on the Lord in my distress,
and he answers me.

Save me, Lord,
from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues.

What will he do to you,
and what more besides,
you deceitful tongue?

He will punish you with a warrior's sharp arrows,
with burning coals of the broom bush.

Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek,
that I live among the tents of Kedar!

Too long have I lived
among those who hate peace.

I am for peace;
but when I speak, they are for war.

Bible Reading Romans 5:1-5

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Quiet

Dwelling

Leisurely read again ... is there a word or idea that stirred within you? Linger over it and give it your attention ... is there something about the reading you'd like to ask God about? Pray your life to God ... take a moment to rest in God's presence.

Free Prayer

  • for resurrection hope and joy
  • for sharing the good news of the living Jesus
  • for a deeper fellowship with the triune God

The Lord's Prayer

Prayer HC 24/25

Three-personed God, you are a wonder. God the Father our Creator, God the Son our Deliverer, God the Holy Spirit our Sanctifier. United and yet each unique, sole God but not solitary, three and yet one. Thank you for this mystery: that at the heart of the universe is a communion of love. Amen.

Blessing 2 Corinthians 13:14

"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
