Invitation Romans 5:5

"God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 123

I lift up my eyes to you,
to you who sit enthroned in heaven.

As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master,
as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress,

so our eyes look to the Lord our God,
till he shows us his mercy.

Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us,
for we have endured no end of contempt.

We have endured no end
of ridicule from the arrogant,
of contempt from the proud.

Bible Reading Acts 10:9-16

About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."

"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."

The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

Remind yourself you are in God's presence and read again ... notice how God might be speaking to you through his Word — dwell on a word or phrase that jumps out at you ... let your heart respond to God in prayer ... take refreshment in God's presence.

Prayer WLC 67

Startling God, you explode our narrow vision by the wideness of your love. Not only do we depend on you to open our hearts to your salvation, but also to see and embrace your grand saving purposes. We pray that you would enlighten our minds, renew our wills, and make us willing and able to freely answer your call to share the gospel with all those you are drawing to Jesus. Amen.

Blessing 2 Corinthians 13:14

"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
