Invitation Psalm 145:13b

"The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 26:1-8

Vindicate me, Lord,
for I have led a blameless life;

I have trusted in the Lord
and have not faltered.

Test me, Lord, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind;

for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love
and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

I do not sit with the deceitful,
nor do I associate with hypocrites.

I abhor the assembly of evildoers
and refuse to sit with the wicked.

I wash my hands in innocence,
and go about your altar, Lord,

proclaiming aloud your praise
and telling of all your wonderful deeds.

Lord, I love the house where you live,
the place where your glory dwells.

Bible Reading Genesis 15:1-6

After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:

"Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."

But Abram said, "Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?" And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir."

Then the word of the Lord came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir." He took him outside and said, "Look up at the sky and count the stars — if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

Prayer WLC 72

God, my very great reward, your economy of grace is a beautiful thing. When in my sinfulness I trust your grace, that faith is accounted to my credit. And all of a sudden my life is rich. I'm counting on your incalculable grace in Jesus. Amen.

Blessing Jeremiah 29:11

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
