Invitation 2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is ... patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 29:1-4, 8-11

Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.

The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic...

The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.

The voice of the Lord twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.

And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.

The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.

Bible Reading Ephesians 5:8-14

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible — and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said:

"Wake up, sleeper,

rise from the dead,

and Christ will shine on you."

Quiet

Dwelling

Remind yourself you are in God's presence and read again ... notice how God might be speaking to you through his Word — dwell on a word or phrase that jumps out at you ... let your heart respond to God in prayer ... take refreshment in God's presence.

Free Prayer

  • for the flourishing of Christ's church everywhere
  • for worship that glorifies God and gathers, unites, and blesses his people
  • for those who live as single persons in our church communities

Prayer HC 91

Giving God and source of every good thing, forgive me for turning away from you to seek out good in what I think is right or in the latest fads all around me. Turn me again in faith to you and your shining presence. Let me live as a child of light, doing everything good that fits with your law. In Christ's name, amen.

Blessing Numbers 6:24-26

"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."
