Invitation Psalm 47:5-7

"God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise."

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 102:1-2, 18-22

Hear my prayer, Lord;
let my cry for help come to you.

Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress.

Turn your ear to me;
when I call, answer me quickly...

Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the Lord:

"The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high,
from heaven he viewed the earth,

to hear the groans of the prisoners
and release those condemned to death."

So the name of the Lord will be declared in Zion
and his praise in Jerusalem

when the peoples and the kingdoms
assemble to worship the Lord.

Bible Reading John 15:26-27; 16:12-15

"When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father — the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father — he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning...

"I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you."

Dwelling

Leisurely read again ... is there a word or idea that stirred within you? Linger over it and give it your attention ... is there something about the reading you'd like to ask God about? Pray your life to God ... take a moment to rest in God's presence.

Prayer WC 1.7

Wise and wonderful God, I don't need to earn a graduate degree in theology; I don't need to be mystical or even especially moral. I don't even have to get it all. Thank you for sending your Spirit to take me by the hand and lead me into all truth, making me wise beyond myself. Amen.

Blessing Matthew 28:19-20

"Go and make disciples of all nations... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
