Invitation Psalm 100:1-2

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs."

Bible Song Psalm 99:1-5

The Lord reigns,
let the nations tremble;

he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
let the earth shake.

Great is the Lord in Zion;
he is exalted over all the nations.

Let them praise your great and awesome name —
he is holy.

The King is mighty, he loves justice —
you have established equity;

in Jacob you have done
what is just and right.

Exalt the Lord our God
and worship at his footstool;
he is holy.

Bible Reading John 1:9-14, 16-18

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth...

Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

Prayer BC 10

Unseen God, I sometimes wonder: what are you like? Thank you for not leaving me in the dark but making yourself known in Jesus. Because he is one with you, I see exactly what you are like in him, a perfect reflection of your glory. Give me the eyes to see you and faith to serve you. Amen.

Blessing Luke 1:68

"Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them."
