Invitation Psalm 27:1

"The Lord is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear?"

Quiet

Bible Song Psalm 89:1-4, 20-24

I will sing of the Lord's great love forever;
with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known
through all generations.

I will declare that your love stands firm forever,
that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one,
I have sworn to David my servant,

'I will establish your line forever
and make your throne firm through all generations.'"...

"I have found David my servant;
with my sacred oil I have anointed him.

My hand will sustain him;
surely my arm will strengthen him.

The enemy will not get the better of him;
the wicked will not oppress him.

I will crush his foes before him
and strike down his adversaries.

My faithful love will be with him,
and through my name his horn will be exalted."

Bible Reading Romans 15:5-7, 13

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God...

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Quiet

Prayer BC 37

God of hope, fill me with edge-of-the-seat anticipation as I wait for that unimaginable day when I will be crowned with glory and honor, hear you call out my name, and have you wipe away every tear from my eyes. May my hope for that good future temper the tragedy and mess of today. In Christ's name, amen.

Blessing Psalm 27:14

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
